| Notes | [Not 1990 film] This film succeeds because of the child actors who are superb. It's a film more about custody battles than manic depression which the mother has. It is a TV film and it is in the 'disease of the week' mould but the acting and writing hold our attention and sympathy. You will take sides but you'll also understand the mother and the other adults. A child can easily gain our sympathy but the eldest, Jessica, played by Lexi Randall is not wholly good or innocent. She is selfish as well as caring. Sarah Jessica Parker as the mother is better than one might expect but the condition of depression is perhaps one of the more difficult 'diseases' to play.
