| Notes | Steve Carroll writes: "Summer Of The Monkeys", based on the book by Wilson Rawls, author of "Where The Red Fern Grows", is about a boy who discovers that a group of escaped circus monkeys are living near his farm. Soon, there is a reward out for them, and he must choose whether to protect them from unscrupulous bounty hunters or turn them in for the reward and purchase a horse he's had his eye on. His sister Daisy (Katie Stuart) was born with a "twisted leg"…it's explained like that in the book, not explained at all in the movie…and must wear a metal brace on it. In the end, he uses the reward money to pay for Daisy's operation http://www.christiananswers.net/spotlight/movies/pre2000/summerofthemonkeys.html
