| Notes | B/W, Silent Jim Kelly is a good baseball player but arrogant with it so he's not well-liked by his fellow New York Yankees players. After getting drunk the night before a game he mouths off at an older player calling him a has-been. A young batboy, Mickey, who worships Kelly overhears this and is disillusioned. Kelly leaves the team but at a crucial stage in the World Series Mickey thinks Kelly is the man to save them. But on his way to look for Kelly he is run over. Of course Kelly hears of this returns to the game hits the winning run without his usual arrogance and hopefully this will help Mickey recover. But as Mickey is pushed in a wheelchair into the stadium he reverts to his former arrogant self but by then everyone has seen that he has changed.
