| Notes | To an isolated Cornish community arrives a Russian shipwrecked sailor, the sole survivor. A good sense of the late 19th, early 20th century community is created. The locations are beautiful. The two leads, Perez and Weisz, are beautiful and seem sometimes out of step with the solid supporting cast But this is a love story thwarted by the inward looking people of the community. A glossy film is let down by a dull script and such clichés of film making whereby every dark moment is accompanied by heavy rain. There is a young woman who has an abscess on her leg and uses a wheelchair.
