| Notes | Muriel is picked on by her so called friends partly because of her appearance. She also finds her home life miserable and is put down by her father. So she takes off and goes to the resort of Hibiscus Island where she makes friends with Rhonda. Muriel is also obsessed with getting married and she does but it's a marriage of convenience to allow a South African to stay in the country. Her good friend Rhonda gets a tumour on her spine which results in her having to use a wheelchair. Initially Muriel neglects but later they are reconciled.
