Title | Dominick and Eugene (1988) | Alternative/Original Title | Nicky and Gino | Disability | Learning difficulty | Country | USA | Length | 111 | Genre | Drama | Rating | 4 | Director | Robert M. Young
| Cast | Tom Hulce Ray Liotta Jamie Lee Curtis Robert Levine Todd Graff Bill Cobbs
| Notes | Tom Hulce (you may remember him as Mozart) plays man with learning difficulties who is looked after by his brother (a doctor). Except that Hulce works, as a garbage collector, and supports his brother through medical school. This is a film not so much about actions in the broad confrontational sense but attitudes. Such films can only succeed by the quality of the acting and direction. This film is sentimental, passionate, occasionally melodramatic and achieves a depth of understanding in the lives of both Hulce and his brother though you might feel the points it is making are pressed in your face. Better to have tried even if not wholly successful.
