| | Notes | B/W This only goes to show that Hollywood was making TV films before TV got in the act. An actress who is dying adopts a young girl who is an orphan. The reason: to give her husband someone to care for when she dies. Those films in which the dying wife finds a replacement wife are surely more on track. Re-made in 1958 as The Gift of Love. Lauren Bacall as the wife dies but re-surfaces as a guide for her husband. TV eventually got around to a re-make in 1984 again with the title "Sentimental Journey".
