Title | Roseanna's Grave (1997) | Alternative/Original Title | For the Love of Roseanna | Disability | General Terminal illness VERY MINOR | Country | USA/Italy | Length | 98 | Genre | Black Comedy | Rating | 3 | Director | Paul Weiland
| Cast | Jean Reno Mercedes Ruehl Polly Walker
| Notes | The superb Jean Reno plays Marcello whose wife, Roseanna, is dying from a weak heart. Her wish is to be buried next to their deceased daughter. But the graveyard is almost full and the man who owns the land next to the cemetery won't sell. So Marcello sets out to prevent anyone else dying before his wife does. This involves a lot of farcial comedy which doesn't altogether work, more's the pity. At the same time Roseanna is trying to set up a relationship for Marcello with her younger sister (this is quite a common theme where women are dying). Roseanna never actually looks ill. The film is set in Italy with an international cast and regrettably everyone insists on speaking English which for me sploit the mood.
