Title | Down Came a Blackbird (1995) (TV Film) | Alternative/Original Title | Ramirez | Disability | General Traumatic shock Torture | Country | USA | Length | 100 | Genre | Drama | Rating | 2 | Director | Jonathan Sanger
| Cast | Vanessa Redgrave Laura Dern Raoul Julia
| Notes | This film is as pretentious as the title. And as for the blackbird it's a long time coming down. More the pity then that this is Raoul Julia's last film and he looks as ill as he must have been. Yet he still has great prescence. The movement in the film is awkward, slow, full of pauses as though the scenes are improvised. The setting is a clinic for the victims of torture run by a psychiatrist played by Vaness Redgrave. Laura Dern is a reporter who has also been the victim of torture and goes to the clinic to interview Redgrave. but Redgrave makes the condition that Dern joins the 'programme'. There's a lot of talk, a lot of stories told and you're quickly bored out of your mind. Laura Dern was one of the producers and I'd say it's her worst performance.
