| Notes | In English and Cantonese Set in an unflattering quarter of Hong Kong just before the hand over to China. Apparently this film opposes the hand over and believes Hong Kong will only go downhill under Chinese rule. The vehicle is a love story between a British journalist who has lived for 15 years there and is now dying and a female bar owner who used to be a prostitute. Unfortunately I don't know what his terminal illness is. You'll probably know Jeremy Irons and though Li Gong is unknown in the west she's a big star in China. She is rated highly as an actress besides being beautiful but apparently here she has little chance to show her skills and has very little to say in English.
