Title | Blue Dahlia, The (1946) | Alternative/Original Title | | Disability | General Shell shock | Country | USA | Length | 99 | Genre | Crime | Rating | 4 | Director | George Marshall
| Cast | Alan Ladd Veronica Lake William Bendix Howard da Silva
| Notes | Ladd returns from the war to find his wife is seeing someone else. Then she is murdered and he becomes the suspect. Ladd begins investigating to prove his innocence. Along the line he takes up with Lake who is married to a night club owner. Bendix was in the navy air arm with Ladd but is cracking up after his wartime experiences. His is a reasonably good performance but it is Lake and Chandler's script that make the film interesting. Has become something of a minor classic a description it can just about sustain.
