Title | When You Remember Me (1990) (TV Film) | Alternative/Original Title | | Disability | General Muscular Dystrophy | Country | USA | Length | 100 | Genre | Drama | Rating | 3 | Director | Harry Winer
| Cast | Fred Savage Ellen Burstyn Kevin Spacey Richard Jenkins Dwier Brown Lee Garlington
| Notes | Reasonably effective though Fred Savage (of the TV series "The Wonder Years") is here a limited actor. He plays a teenager with muscular dystrophy whose mother puts him in a nursing home when she can't cope. He is the only young person amongst all the 'Alzheimer's'. He gets out of there into another home full of young people and which looks to be an answer to his dreams. But this home is ruled by the wicked Nurse Ratched and from here the film is a teenage " One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest' with Savage playing the Jack Nicholson role. He wins 'privileges' for the gang of teenagers, fights the regime of medication, and gets them all out for a trip to see 'The Grateful Dead'. He is punished by Nurse Ratched, his condition deteriorates and just in time he and the rest are saved by a campaigning lawyer who wins for them their civil rights. By this time melodrama has gone over the top. Yet the film is still worth watching. The attitude of his mother who has basically dumped him is never quite made clear.
