| Notes | A young couple with a daughter have another child. this one by ceasarian. After giving birth the mother loses a lot of blood. And then she has a stroke. It appears she might not make it. She had a previous blood condition from protein deficiency (I may be wrong about this). Her blood clotted too much and damaged her brain. She has surgery but the doctor says brain cells do not regenerate and she will only improve if other areas of the brain compensate. The greater part of the film is about rejection. Her other daughter rejects her mother asking where her real mother is. She rejects her baby and she rejects rehabilitation. The husband who is a lawyer says the hospital is not doing enough for her and wants her home. There is a very slow recovery and she eventually goes to rehab. The husband is kicked out of rehab for being an impediment but he takes it out on his brother with whom he works. He's messing up his law practice and won't see a counsellor. The mother appears to make a full recovery and at the end gives a sentimental speech. Yet this is a woman who had no chance to bond with her baby or feed it and this side of things isn't mentioned. The actress playing the older daughter gives a good performance.
