| Notes | Julia Roberts is just about to be married and as she's having her hair done she has a 'strange turn'. It is revealed she has a severe form of diabetes and shouldn't have children. She gets pregnant, mum is upset but the baby is born O.K. and mum is O.K. But later the strain on her kidneys means she has to have dialysis. There are a great many other things going on with the other women and their husbands but I'll stick to this storyline. There's much hunting around for a kidney and in the end mum offers one of hers. But the daughter has a relapse, is taken into hospital and her husband signs to have the life-support turned off. Of course in the way of these films there is a new generation to carry on. But this is an interesting and well-acted film. From the play by Robert Harling
