| | Notes | Bob Flanagan calls himself a writer and performance artist. After watching this film I'd disagree except that performance artist can mean anything. Flanagan who lived with pain made it into a sado-masochistic act. And only a supreme egoist could believe that what he did in private was fit for public consumption. To me his work has all the quality of poetry published in your local paper and is praised by the likes of people who call disabled people brave and courageous. You'll need a very strong stomach to sit through this film. Flanagan died aged 42 or 53 depending on your sources.
