Title | Meet John Doe (1941) | Alternative/Original Title | | Disability | Dwarf | Country | USA | Length | 132 | Genre | Satire? | Rating | 3 | Director | Frank Capra
| Cast | Gary Cooper Barbara Stanwyck Edward Arnold Walter Brennan James Gleason
| Notes | B/W. Stanwyck gets the sack from her newspaper and in a last dash of the typewriter 'pens' a letter to the paper purporting to be from a man of the streets. The letter provokes so much interest the paper is desperate to find the man. Of course he doesn't exist so they bring in a bevy of tramps. Cooper plays the tramp who is chosen. Naturally with Capra at the helm events get out of hand and in this case become quite gloomy. For me Cooper hasn't the range to fill his character. But Stanwyck is on good form. Billy Curtis and Johnny Fern play dwarfs.
