| | Notes | Part 1: Siegfried's Death 1924 Part 2: Kriemhild's Revenge 1925 Before he emigrated to America Lang made this epic film of Prince Siegfried's quest for the hand of Kriemhild. Like any quest adventure Siegfried must go through a series of testing rituals. One of these is to get the treasure of the dwarf king of the Nibelungen. The composer, Wagner, also based his opera on the same stories from German mythology. The best known is the 13th Century epic poem Nibelungenlied.
