| Notes | This is one of those gangster films in which people who are mainly innocent get caught up in the tumbrel of crime. The hero, Slater, works selling comics. The heroine, Arquette, is an 'apprentice' prostitute. They meet and bond and true romance is just slightly complicated by their inadvertent possession of somebody else's 5 million dollars of cocaine. It belongs to the mob of course who else has the capital for such big enterprises? There's pursuit, and violence and weird situations courtesy of scriptwriter Quentin Tarantino. And with so much going on no one will be bored. Plus there's a great cast mostly playing cameos. Oldman being a bad, bad pimp has a 'cateract' over his left eye, facial scars and silver teeth. Not to mention dreadlocks which must be another way to point us to the bad guys.
