Title | Eye for an Eye (1996) | Alternative/Original Title | | Disability | Disfigurement | Country | USA | Length | 101 | Genre | Thriller | Rating | 2 | Director | John Schlesinger
| Cast | Sally Field Kiefer Sutherland Ed Harris Beverly D'Angelo Joe Mantegna Charlayne Woodard
| Notes | A startling beginning as Sally Field is caught in a traffic jam on the phone to her daughter who it quickly becomes apparent is being raped and murdered. Field rushes along the street banging on car windows trying to get people to phone the police because she doesn't want to drop the connection to her daughter. Her efforts are all too late. Initially frustrated by police attempts to catch the killer , then when they have a suspect he gets off on a technicality, she takes things into her own hands. But by then the film has already gone downhill, subtlety is thrown out of the window. The suspect is so thoroughly unlikeable, he even kicks dogs, that we might be rooting for the mother if it all weren't so over the top. Like so many villains this one has a severely scarred face.
