Title | El Dorado (1967) | Alternative/Original Title | | Disability | Alcoholism Disfigurement Limb | Country | USA | Length | 126 | Genre | Western | Rating | 3 | Director | Howard Hawks
| Cast | John Wayne Robert Mitchum James Caan Charlene Holt
| Notes | This is a sort of re-make of Rio Bravo (1959) which doesn't achieve that film's class stature. Wayne and Caan come to the rescue of the alcoholic sheriff (Mitchum) as he faces the usual baddies. For a Western this film was filmed very much inside I.e. in a studio. Wayne has a bullet in his back which sometimes paralyses his right hand. Mitchum plays a comic book drunk not unlike Dean Martin in Rio Bravo. One of the baddies has a long scar down his face. The first two disabilities are there more to enhance character than portray disability and the last is your typical 'villain's scar'. See the review at: http://www.dvdcult.com/rev_ElDorado.htm
