Title | Mask (1985) | Alternative/Original Title | | Disability | Facial disfigurement Blind | Country | USA | Length | 120 | Genre | Drama | Rating | 4 | Director | Peter Bogdanovich
| Cast | Cher Eric Stoltz Sam Elliott Estelle Getty
| Notes | Story of teenage boy with craniodiaphyseal dyaplasia. This is an absorbing and enlightening film. Unsentimental and realistic. Cher, the mother, reveals the real conflicts of a single parent struggling to care for her son while living her own life. Her undisputed love for her son is tempered by selfishness. While Stolz, as the teenager, shows the ups and downs of someone who appreciates the special attention he is shown while trying to be independent. Laura Dern is the blind girl who loves him. My main concern about this film is that the person who loves him is blind. N.B. not the 'The Mask' (1994)
