Title | Tingler, The (1959) | Alternative/Original Title | | Disability | Deaf | Country | USA | Length | 82 | Genre | Horror | Rating | 2 | Director | William Castle
| Cast | Vincent Price Darryl Hickman Judith Evelyn
| Notes | Price plays a coroner with a scientific bent. He has the theory that the tingling sensation we have when scared is caused by a creature which dematerialises when we scream. So he is intrigued when he meets the owner of a cinema showing silent films who has a deaf wife. The assumption is that because she is deaf she cannot speak and therefore scream. Apparently she has no vocal cords. With her husband she uses sign language. She also won't shake hands because people carry germs and she becomes rigid and collapses at the sight of blood. Price explains this as resulting from her inability to scream. I couldn't pay attention to this film considering the story and the performances to be really bad.
