| Notes | An American (Malkovich) and his girlfriend (MacDowell) are living in London far beyond their means and still profligate with money. Desperate for money he wants to sell a Henry Moore sculpture she'd been given by her husband. She prefers to pretend it has been stolen and claim the insurance. Both are thwarted by their deaf-speaking impaired maid who has grown attached to it and hides it for her own comfort. MacDowell thinks Malkovich has sold it, and he thinks she's hidden it. A deft comedy which is at times serious without spoiling the film.
