At school she has a friend who has been deaf from birth and can't talk. When her life is saved by a dog and it turns out to be a stray she wants to keep it. But her parents are against the idea until she thinks of having the dog trained as a guide dog (seeing eye dog). The dog is called Ears. Catya writes: the actress is partially deaf in real life.
