| Notes | A man born deaf and speaking impaired is sent from his village to work as a keeper at a town estate. The move upsets him until he find romance with a washerwoman. To his consternation their employer makes her marry someone else. The man takes solace in looking after a puppy which is the runt of the litter. He calls the dog, Mumu, and soon it is lively and healthy. But when it snaps at his employer she tells him to get rid of it. He throws the dog in a river and sets off for his home village.
