| Cast | Tom Cruise Philip Baker Hall Julianne Moore Jason Robards
| Notes | This film is a day in the life of many disparate characters. It views like soap opera with constant changes among the groups of characters I found that like most soaps I liked some characters and not others. And by the end I found the whole had become tedious. It might have worked better as a TV series. Critics have praised Cruise but I found his portrayal of his character as off-putting as the character would be in reality. Much more subtle is the episode between the police officer and the drug addict. Two of the older characters are dying of cancer, Earl Partridge (Jason Robards) and Jimmy Gator (Philip Baker Hall). Partridge spents the whole film in bed. http://movie-reviews.colossus.net/movies/m/magnolia.html
