| Cast | John Hurt Edward Woodward Jan Francis Ben Johnson Kirstie Alley Peter Barkworth Ann Bell Judy Parfitt
| Notes | From the true story of English jockey who had cancer and fought to get back into racing. Despite a very good cast this is a low key, dull treatment of the subject. Sort of: this is a true story, we're telling it how it was so why should we entertain you? Even so we get speeding horses, and speeding cars with a heavy musical accompaniment. The film is too busy getting everyone into the frame, most obvious in the final sequence when everyone who's been seen so far has to be shown watching Bob Champion winning the Grand National. Hurt is superb as usual and not afraid to look really awful following the effects of chemotherapy.
