| | Notes | The film is set around the lives of people who drift in and out of a Brooklyn smoke shop (tobacconist). Well observed, full of small incidents which don't quite add up to a story, more like dozens of stories. Somewhat pretentious, philosophical, trying to do it all kind of film. Forest Whittaker plays a garage mechanic, the lost father of one of the characters, and he has a prosthetic, metal left arm. Stockard Channing, an old girlfriend of the tobacconist wears a patch over one eye. The disabilities appear to signify simply that these are ordinary people.
