| Notes | Blindness used as plot device. An officer from a family with a military tradition decides to resign just before his regiment goes to the 1989 Sudan campaign. Three fellow officers give him a white feather, and his girlfriend dumps him. Improbably we might think he goes to Sudan and disguises himself as a native. There after his regiment is defeated he rescues the officers who gave him the white feathers. In the wallet of one who has gone blind in the heat he places a white feather. This of course later reveals him to have been the rescuer.
