Title | They Drive By Night (1940) | Alternative/Original Title | | Disability | Amputee | Country | USA | Length | 93 | Genre | Drama | Rating | 4 | Director | Raoul Walsh
| Cast | George Raft Humphrey Bogart Ann Sheridan Ida Lupino
| Notes | Classic story of truckers in the 30s. And George Raft plays a good guy. He's a partner with his brother, Bogart, in a truck in which they haul fruit and veg. Bogart loses arm in crash after falling asleep at wheel of the truck. A good film at portraying the life of truckers but is spoiled by Lupino's character yearning for Raft and eventually killing her husband. Lupino (whom I admire as actor and director) here goes way over the top as she goes insane. From the novel The Long Haul by A.I. Bezzerides
