Title | Intimate Relations (1996) | Alternative/Original Title | | Disability | Amputee Alcoholism | Country | UK / Canada | Length | 105 | Genre | Comedy | Rating | 2 | Director | Philip Goodhew
| Cast | Julie Walters Rupert Graves Matthew Walker Laura Sadler Holly Aird
| Notes | Set in 1950s England and portrays what we'd call today a dysfunctional family. The story is supposed to be true if that makes any difference to you. The husband has only one leg, lost during the war, and in the first scene he has it off at breakfast polishing the shoe on the end of it. Overall the characters are caricatures, even the house looks like a film set. A lodger arrives who the mother sleeps with and later the daughter gets in with both of them. Husband sleeps in his own room and knows soon enough what's going on but only feels contempt for himself and drinks himself into oblivion. The lodger gets fed up with it all and joins the army. Disappointing considering the cast.
