| Notes | Nearly everyone says this is a hugely enjoyable, uplifting film. A man with an I.Q…. Of 75 overcomes his disability and even wins the Congressional Medal of Honor. Go on, tell me it's based on a true story. I simply couldn't take to this film. I couldn't empathise with the main character. But it is one of the highest grossing films ever. As a boy Gump wears braces and has crooked spine. Gump travels through historical moments of his lifetime. This includes a spell in the army which he would never have got into. There is also a double leg amputee created with special effects. There's a review at The Women's Studies Database: http://www.inform.umd.edu/EdRes/Topic/WomensStudies/FilmReviews/forrest-gump-fuchs
