| Notes | (TV Film) The story of a boy who is adopted, fares poorly at school and is a disappointment to his father until he starts diving. He goes to the 1976 Olympics and wins a silver medal. He goes to the 1984 Olympics and wins two gold medals. 'But' all this time he's gay. His partner has AIDS and pneumonia and he himself is diagnosed HIV positive. He still goes to the Seoul Olympics in 1988 and during one dive he bangs his head on the lower diving board. At this point, me with my fixed mindset, thought he was going to be paralysed but no, he goes on to win another gold. I'm not really into sports films which are just about sport and even the gay issue is not handled all that well.
