Films involving Mental Illness

Major films are those films which generally focus on the disability.
Minor Films are those in which the disability plays only a minor role or is used for comedy, thriller, horror purposes.

This category includes films ranging from chronic depression to schizophrenia.  A difficult category to draw up criteria for since anyone committing an extreme act like murder may be said to be mentally ill.  A great
many films involving murder associate it with mental illness.  But an example like "Halloween"
(1978) in which Michael Myers escapes from a mental hospital gives us little insight into his
condition.  The "escapee from a mental institution" is a common element in the minor category films and I hope eventually to create a separate category for these films.
