NotesA strange and convoluted story. Stone buys a pair of scissors which she needs for her doll renovating 'hobby'. Getting home she is attacked in the lift and only escapes rape by stabbing the masked man with the scissors. In something of a state she is taken to the flat of two brothers one of whom is in a wheelchair after a car crash. The other brother is a TV soap star. She sleeps on their sofa. The next day she goes to her psychiatrist who says her condition stems from something in her childhood. Apparently she's still a virgin. Later she goes to the cinema and a man puts a knife to her throat. We're given the impression that she is imagining these things and is going mad. It turns out the disabled brother is not 'bound' to his wheelchair and is playing on his brother's guilt. His brother having been the driver in the car accident. In a mysterious manner she is sent to a house to do a 'job'. There is no one there but a body with a pair of scissors in it. She finds herself locked in the room and becomes delusional. At this point we discover that the psychiatrist is behind it all. His wife is having an affair and he is setting up Stone to take the blame for the murder of her lover. Stone's hangup was that as a child she was witness to the murder of her stepfather who was abusing her by her mother. But the whole is all rather far-fetched. How is an apparently sane woman brought to the state where she believes she going mad. And is it probable that one brother living with the other will be fooled for so long?
