NotesB/W. Classic Damon Runyon story (Madame La Gimp) made into classic film by Capra. A street seller becomes a lady. Blind Dad Mills plays a blind man. Remade by Capra as 'Pocketful of Miracles' in 1961. n.b. In Runyon's "Guys and Dolls" Madame La Gimp is described as "She walks with a gimp in one leg, which is why she is called Madame La Gimp." Gimp is American slang from around the 1920s for someone whose disability causes them to limp.
