NotesA teenage boy returns to his father and grandparents after staying with alcoholic mother. Dad is about to get re-married. All Daniel cares about is getting on the school football team But soon he's fed up with living with dad, his new wife and her two young kids. Granma (Reynolds) collapses with a mild stroke caused by diabetes. She's told she has only 5% use of her kidneys left and requires dialysis. But the dialysis doesn't do the job and she needs a kidney transplant. Daniel who is very close to his gran wants to donate one of his kidneys though this means he'll never be able to play football again. When dad hears of this he wants to donate a kidney but the new wife is against this partly because he can't afford to take a month off work. Gran is also against Daniel's offer even after a match is confirmed The transplant goes ahead. Gran is O.K. and Daniel gets a full scholarship to Florida State University. Not such a bad film. It tackles the issues involved and it is a true story.
