NotesDetective Andy Garcia investigates killing of blind women, falls in love with blind witness. Reasonably entertaining thriller, fairly formulaic, with one of today's best actors, Garcia, adding to the enjoyment. Uma Thurman who may also be a good actor makes being blind look miserable but also gives her character an occasional sense of mystery and attractiveness. Thurman is set to be the eighth victim hence Garcia's interest. After a few twists to the plot the killer is found to be a cop who went to a school for blind girls and had a rough time. (I don't remember why). In the end though we have to conclude that being blind is simply there for plot purposes. Thurman's character lost her sight in a car accident which killed the rest of her family. Though she shows no signs of any damage around her eyes. The killer has asthma which is used as a clue to his identity. Compare with 'On Dangerous Ground' (see below).
