| | Notes | The father of a 17 year old girl died in Vietnam before she was born. Her mother has remarried and moved away and she lives with her uncle who was also in Vietnam. He is still suffering from the effect of 'shell shock'. She wants to learn more about her father and the war but her uncle won't open up.The film is set in a small town, Hopewell, Kentucky and slowly rambles through the life of the town. Better than some have said and with good acting from Emily Lloyd and Bruce Willis. So long as you're not seeking great action scenes or violent melodrama this film has something to offer in understanding the fall-out of war. I change my mind every five minutes about whether or not Willis can act. In "Die Hard" and "Pulp Fiction" he was perfectly cast and in this film he makes good of the part.
