Brian Murphy emails with this information: This is a Canadian movie about a young man who tries out for the high jump not the pole vault. The actor Brent Carver is able bodied but his amputee stand-in was Arnie Boldt a Canadian paralympian who held the world amputee high jump record at that time. He could high jump almost 2 meters.
